Eastgardens is a suburb of Sydney in New South Wales, Australia. It is situated along with the other Eastern Suburbs in the city, approximately 9 km southeast of the Sydney Central Business District. The suburb is considered a part of the Bayside Council and is surrounded by different neighbouring suburbs including Pagewood, Hillsdale, Banksmeadow, and Maroubra. Eastgardens features a shopping centre located at the corner of Wentworth Avenue and Bunnerong Road, called the Westfield Eastgardens. This large shopping centre is also where the name of the suburb was derived from. Historically, the area where Eastgardens lay was previously a part of the suburbs of Pagewood and Hillsdale.
