Bonnyrigg is a suburb of Sydney in New South Wales, Australia. It is part of the Greater Western Sydney region in the local government area of City of Fairfield, situated approximately 30 kilometres west from the Sydney’s Central Business District (CBD). The name of the suburb is derived from a town in Scotland, Bonnyrigg. It features various heritage-listed sites including Bonnyrigg House in Cartwright Street, and Male Orphan School land in Lot 1 Cartwright Street. In terms of the commercial area in the suburb, it has the Bonnyrigg Plaza which is a shopping centre found on Bonnyrigg Avenue. Bonnyrigg Plaza consists of community facilities like the Housing NSW department office, Police and Community Youth Clubs (PCYC), and a library open to the public. Next to the plaza is a local primary school of the suburb while across it is a hardware store called Bunnings. Aside from the Bonnyrigg Plaza, there is also a smaller commercial area in the suburb which is the Brown Road.
