A suburb of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, Canley Height is situated in the Southern-western Sydney region and part of the local government area of the City of Fairfield. The suburb primarily consists of low-density homes and commercial areas. Along the Canley Vale Road, the center of the commercial area can be found, it is also the main street of Canley Heights and features dollar and convenience stores, various ethnic restaurants (mainly Chinese, Vietnamese, and Thai food), and offers a ‘nightlife’ in the weekends for the locals and tourists, as most of the restaurants and shops would close by 5 pm in Sydney and all over the country. The name of the suburb came from its sister suburb Canley Vale. In the mid-19th century, Sir Henry Parkes settled here and built his residence named Canley Grange which takes after his birthplace Canley in Coventry, England. The 2016 census says that the population of Canley Heights were 10,974, and most of the people were born in Australia while the rest are divided into various country of origin such as Vietnam, Cambodia, and New Zealand.
