Bidwill is a residential suburb of Sydney in New South Wales, Australia. It is considered part of the Greater Western Sydney region in the local government area of the City of Blacktown, approximately 48 kilometres west of the Sydney Central Business District (CBD). The name of the suburb is derived from John Carne Bidwill, designated as a botanist in charge at the Botanic Gardens in 1847. Bidwill is the area where the Darug tribe resided before the settlement and colonisation of Australia. The suburb features little commercial activities, however, it is close to places with larger shopping centres, banks, and railway stations, which are the suburbs of Mount Druitt and St Marys. Bidwill is serviced by public transportation through bus company, Busways.
