Arcadia is a semi-rural suburb of Sydney; it is 42 kilometres northwest of the Sydney Central Business District. Arcadia is located in the Hills District region. The main road in the area is called Arcadia Road which gives access to Galston and leads north heading to Bay Road in Berrille and Berowra Waters. The road also connects to Cobah Road which leads north to Fiddletown. The name Arcadia came from a region in Greece and in Greek mythology means a pastoral retreat. In the history of Arcadia, the Darug people were the original inhabitants of the area before the Europeans came, which later opened a timber industry in the year 1817.
