Cranebrook, situated within Greater Western Sydney in New South Wales, Australia, resides approximately 50 km WNW of Sydney's central business district. A part of the City of Penrith's jurisdiction, Cranebrook boasts a hilly landscape and offers views of the Nepean River and the Blue Mountains to the west, while the eastern side features the ADI Site rich in Cumberland Woodland and abundant kangaroos. The suburb's name, derived from pioneer farmer James McCarthy's "Crane Brook farm," symbolizes the abundant cranes in the area. Cranebrook's historical significance encompasses the establishment of one of Australia's first Catholic cemeteries by McCarthy and the opening and closing of its post office.
