Busby is a suburb of Sydney in New South Wales, Australia. It is situated in the local government area of the City of Liverpool, approximately 37 kilometres south-west from Sydney`s Central Business District. The suburb is close to other suburbs such as Hinchinbrook, Heckenberg, Miller, Bonnyrigg and Green Valley. The name of the suburb is derived from a pioneer viticulturist, James Busby. He was known as the father of the Australian wine industry. James Busby was also a teacher of Viticulture at the Male Orphans School at Bald Hills. In terms of education, there are schools that can be found in the suburb including the Busby Public School, Busby West Public School, (which are both primary schools) and James Busby High School. Busby also features a park called Whitlam Park, which was named in honour of the former Australian Prime Minister Gough Whitlam.
