Llandilo, located 54 kilometers northwest of Sydney`s central business district, is a suburb in New South Wales, Australia, falling under the governance of the City of Penrith in Greater Western Sydney. This small semi-rural area sits nestled between two creeks. In November 2019, a portion of southern Llandilo was incorporated into an expansion of the neighboring suburb, Jordan Springs. The name Llandilo pays homage to the Welsh town of Llandeilo. Prior to European settlement, the region was inhabited by the Mulgoa people, who followed a hunter-gatherer lifestyle rooted in traditional laws. European settlers arrived in the area in the early 1800s, with the first land grant awarded to Samuel Terry in 1818, who initially named it Terry Brook. The suburb, primarily rural in character, has maintained this identity for over two centuries, even as landholdings have decreased in size over the years. Llandilo has its own public school, which was established in 1866, and also houses Xavier College, a Catholic school completed in 2008.
