About Chester Hill

A suburb of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, Chester Hill is under the jurisdiction of the local government area of the City of Canterbury-Bankstown. A lot of parks can be seen along Chester Hill, including Everly Park, Nugent Park, Campbell Hill Reserve, the Terry Lamb Complex, which includes Frank Bamfield Oval, and Abbot Park, the home of the local teams such as Chester Hill Hornets Junior Rugby League Club and Chester Hill Youth Cricket Club. The main shopping center of the town is Chester Square, located on Chester Hill, catering to the catchment of nearby Birrong, Sefton, Bass, and Chester Hills. The present-day Chester Hill was previously part of the 1, 000 acres of Campbell Hill Estate, owned by John Thomas Campbell in 1815. Mush of the estate remained undeveloped until the 1920s when its first subdivision was made, along with the first few shops built around the area.
